Governor Andrew Cuomo has reached a contract deal with the union that represents state law enforcement officials working in state parks and universities.

The 1,000 members of the Police Benevolent Association of New York had been without a contract since 2005.

This tentative agreement includes a wage freeze for three years with a 2-percent increase in 2014.

Retroactive pay from 2005 to 2010 would be handed out in two installments.

Union members still need to ratify the deal.
