Online Video Marketing For Small Business - Video Production ...

One of the greatest marketing tools available today is the Internet. Video marketing is really effective. You can use these videos to help you spread the message of your company. The ideas that follow can set you on the proper path. my review here, miami corporate videos, navigate to this site

You shouldn't depend on your business's marketing team to generate video ideas. You never know who might come up with the next big idea. Employees who have been with the company for a long time often have the greatest insight into the organizational culture and its values and history. Reaching out to other departments also fosters healthy relationships.

Most people enjoy a good story. Do you have any amusing or inspiring stories that you can share about your business? You could try posting a video about the charitable events that you've participated in. Talk about the beginning, middle, and ending. In addition, you can include customer testimonials of how your products have helped them in some way.

The best title is key to success. Strong titles can go a long way in attracting viewership. Your title will also give them an idea of what to expect from your video. You should make the titles of your videos eyecatching.

Don't ignore YouTube. Video marketing campaigns should begin on this site. YouTube offers free video hosting. In addition, your videos will be on third most-visited website out there. Since it is the most popular video sharing site, your video is more apt to be seen.

When making a video to promote a product, include an active link where they can go to purchase it. Better yet, place the link within the video itself. This helps the link stay within your video if its embedded or shared on another site.

Make a video detailing how to utilize your product correctly. This will help resolve any problems your current customers have, and it will also encourage new customers to purchase your products because they know that you will answer their questions.

Great content is the surest way to get more people to view your video. It doesn't require a fantastic camera to get viewed by millions of people. People watch videos that are alright if they have relevant information that they think is important. Quality is still important, of course, so get the most from your money by investing in quality equipment. A professional, finished product is a must-have.

People who are successful with video marketing know that you have to respond to comments on your videos in a timely manner. People will have questions about products that your business offers and will need answers quickly. Pay attention to the comments you receive and respond in kind.

Simply because you have keywords and transcripts in line with the key data in your video, you are not necessarily prepared to launch. Always post interesting content that is relevant to the viewers. If this is not possible, get some help.

Remember to add an opt-in mailing list form near your video. A lot of people will sign up for a newsletter this way.

You do not have to have a professional record your video for you. You do not have to have a professional camera to do a video. You do not need to be overly fancy either. Be yourself and look in the camera while talking. There are even times when all of this isn't necessary. There are times that PowerPoint presentations and screen captures are all that is needed.

Hopefully, you feel more comfortable about starting a video marketing strategy now. Keep in mind the information you have learned here, and use it while creating your own content. If you do, you are going to see the results you want, and start marketing with video!

iPad mini: 4 months later

iPad mini: 4 months later

Four months later, was the lack of Retina a deal-breaker, or has the iPad mini turned out to be the best tablet ever?

Back in October Apple introduced the iPad mini. We posted our iPad mini review, of course, and you told us how you felt about it in our iPad mini forums. But that was first blush. That was the romance and judgement of something new. It's been 4 months now. It's been a third of a year with a smaller, lighter form factor, and a non-Retina display. So it's time for a checkpoint. How has the iPad mini held up? If we dismissed it before, has it grown on us? If we embraced it, have we fallen out of love? How are we using, or not using, the iPad mini now, some 4 months later?

Chris Oldroyd

Chris?s gift picks: 2012 holiday guide

I don?t actually own an iPad mini, but we do have one in our household and so I have used it quite a bit. My first impression of the iPad mini still stands 4 months later -- I like it. As soon as I saw it revealed, I loved the thinness of it and the smaller size too.

Having now used it, I do feel that it is just a bit small for my personal needs; I watch a lot of video on my iPad 2 and take a lot of handwritten notes which is much easier to do on the larger screen. Having said that, the portability of the iPad mini is a really attractive option.

I will be replacing my iPad 2 when the next generation devices hit the market this year and I will have an important decision to make then. The whole Retina debate doesn?t bother me all that much but if the rumors are true, both devices will have it then anyway. The iPad mini is an awesome iPad there is no question about it but it may just be too small for me!

Derek Kessler

Derek Kessler, editor-in-chief, webOS Nation

I picked up an iPad Mini on launch day and immediately fell in love. It's not a perfect tablet - there is no such thing - but I think it might very well be the best tablet out there.

I've already decided that come next generation I'll be grabbing a larger storage, LTE-enabled version and it's going to replace my in-car GPS (an aging and cranky TomTom unit - so sue me, I'm old fashioned) and my Verizon MiFi. I'm all for cutting back on the number of devices I carry around, and if I can take three devices and turn them into one, so much the better. I'm so much in love with my iPad Mini that I want it to do everything. That's the mark of a good product, no?

Ally Kazmucha

Ally's gift picks: 2012 holiday guide

When I first purchased an iPad mini, I really wasn't too sure how I would take to using it in my everyday workflow. My iPad 3 had always done well for me and I didn't really see myself replacing it this early in its lifecycle. I figured if I didn't use the iPad mini, I could always sell it.

After a few months, I actually find myself using both iPads regularly. My iPad 3 now stays at my office and gets used strictly as a point of sale and work tablet. I'll take it with me to Starbucks occasionally in order to get some writing done but now that keyboard cases are available for the iPad mini as well, that may change -- the mini is much easier to carry around.

While at home, I never really used my iPad 3 a whole lot. I do find myself using my iPad mini quite often though. The size is perfect for reading and lounging. I just always found my standard-sized iPad not as convenient for casual browsing and always ended up using my iPhone. Now, unless I need to make a call, my iPhone typically goes on the charger once I get home, and I pick up my iPad mini to relax.

Everyone's mileage may vary and most people certainly won't have a need to use two iPads on a regular basis but the iPad mini will fit many people's needs just fine for the price and the size.

Leanna Lofte

Leanna's gift picks: 2012 holiday guide

When the iPad mini was first announced, I was excited about a smaller, lighter, more portable iPad, but since it wasn't given a Retina display, I assumed I would only be my "purse iPad". When I picked mine up at the Apple Store, my first thought was "the cutest iPad, yet!", but I still didn't see myself choosing it over the gorgeous screen of my iPad 3 while at home.

I was totally wrong. In fact, I rarely use my iPad 3 these days. Yes, the screen is far superior on the iPad 3, but the size and weight of the iPad mini wins me over every time. It's perfect.

The iPad mini is also perfect for my 2-year-old daughter. For younger kids, iPads are easier to use than iPhones and iPod touches, but have always been a little heavy for them to handle. The iPad mini, however, is just right. It offers developing motor skills a larger screen without too much added bulk.

The iPad mini is the best iPad I've ever owned.

Rene Ritchie

Rene Ritchie, Editor-in-Chief

When Apple announced the iPad mini, I thought the lack of Retina display would be a deal-breaker for me. I'm a design diva and I was sure 163ppi would be like sandpaper on my pupils. During the course of my initial iPad mini review, however, I found out I was wrong. Most of the time, after a few moments, I didn't even notice the lack of Retina. Aside from small text, I grew to barely notice it at all. I was too busy doing stuff.

The big boy iPad was always a laptop or tabletop device for me. I carried it in my bag to use as a mobile hotspot for my MacBook, and I pulled it out and sat up with it to read, watch videos, and otherwise enjoy myself when I wanted to relax. But I couldn't use it in bed -- it was heavy enough to tire my arms and dent my face -- or while walking around, Star Trek crewmember-like.

The iPad mini isn't. Because it's lighter and smaller, it's even better to keep in my bag as a mobile hotspot, and even better to use while lying down and walking around. I've even used the iPad mini as a phone, not as ideally as my iPhone, but more than well enough.

I've grown to use the iPad mini as my primary tablet. I use it for everything now, from surfing the web to gaming to reading to light blogging... you get the idea. There are only 3 things I still break out the iPad 4 for: reading comic books, which are designed for a size closer to the iPad 4's screen, watching epic-level video, which is more engrossing at a larger size, and for those rare occasions when I want to travel and get a good amount of work done without a laptop.

If I weren't still bound to my MacBook Pro. If I didn't still use Photoshop and Final Cut Pro far too much to cut my truck cord any time soon, I might find the full-sized iPad a better replacement. With my current use case, however, as something I need to fill the gap between laptop and phone, the iPad mini remains my go to.

Head on over to the iPad mini forum and give us your 4-months later review. We'll pick a few of the best ones and feature them on the blog this Saturday. The more opinions, the better, so hurry on over!

Language protein differs in males, females

Feb. 19, 2013 ? Male rat pups have more of a specific brain protein associated with language development than females, according to a study published February 20 in The Journal of Neuroscience. The study also found sex differences in the brain protein in a small group of children. The findings may shed light on sex differences in communication in animals and language acquisition in people.

Sex differences in early language acquisition and development in children are well documented -- on average, girls tend to speak earlier and with greater complexity than boys of the same age. However, scientists continue to debate the origin and significance of such differences. Previous studies showed the Foxp2 protein plays an important role in speech and language development in humans and vocal communication in birds and other mammals.

In the current study, J. Michael Bowers, PhD, Margaret McCarthy, PhD, and colleagues at the University of Maryland School of Medicine examined whether sex differences in the expression of the Foxp2 protein in the developing brain might underlie communication differences between the sexes.

The researchers analyzed the levels of Foxp2 protein in the brains of four-day-old female and male rats and compared the ultrasonic distress calls made by the animals when separated from their mothers and siblings. Compared with females, males had more of the protein in brain areas associated with cognition, emotion, and vocalization. They also made more noise than females -- producing nearly double the total vocalizations over the five-minute separation period -- and were preferentially retrieved and returned to the nest first by the mother.

When the researchers reduced levels of the Foxp2 protein in the male pups and increased it in female pups, they reversed the sex difference in the distress calls, causing males to sound like females and the females like males. This change led the mother to reverse her behavior as well, preferentially retrieving the females over the males.

"This study is one of the first to report a sex difference in the expression of a language-associated protein in humans or animals," McCarthy said. "The findings raise the possibility that sex differences in brain and behavior are more pervasive and established earlier than previously appreciated."

The researchers extended their findings to humans in a preliminary study of Foxp2 protein in a small group of children. Unlike the rats, in which Foxp2 protein was elevated in males, they found that in humans, the girls had more of the Foxp2 protein in the cortex -- a brain region associated with language -- than age-matched boys.

"At first glance, one might conclude that the findings in rats don't generalize to humans, but the higher levels of Foxp2 expression are found in the more communicative sex in each species," noted Cheryl Sisk, who studies sex differences at Michigan State University and was not involved with the study.

This research was funded by the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke and the National Institute of Mental Health.

(AP Photo/Charles Dharapak)

(AP) ? Ten days before a new deadline for broad, automatic government spending cuts, the sense of urgency that surrounded other recent fiscal crises is absent. Government agencies are preparing to absorb an $85 billion hit to their budgets, and politicians, at least for now, seem willing to accept the consequences.

President Barack Obama, back from a Florida golfing weekend, warned Tuesday that "people will lose their jobs" if Congress doesn't act. But lawmakers weren't in session to hear his appeal, and they aren't coming back to work until next week.

Still dividing the two sides are sharp differences over whether tax increases, which Obama wants and Republicans oppose, should be part of a budget deal.

Obama cautioned that if the immediate spending cuts ? known as sequestration ? occur, the full range of government will feel the effects. Among those he listed: furloughed FBI agents, reductions in spending for communities to pay police, firefighters and teachers, and decreased ability to respond to threats around the world.

"So far at least, the ideas that the Republicans have proposed ask nothing of the wealthiest Americans or the biggest corporations," Obama said at a White House event against a backdrop of firefighters and other emergency personnel. "So the burden is all on the first responders, or seniors or middle class families."

Aides say Obama is ready to take his case more directly to the public in an effort to pressure Republicans, either by traveling to vulnerable states or, as the White House often does, through local media interviews. They say neither Obama nor White House officials are now engaged in direct negotiations with Republican leaders.

The spending cuts, however, aren't perceived to be as calamitous as the threatened results of recent fights over the nation's borrowing authority and the "fiscal cliff" that would have cut spending and increased tax rates on all Americans paying income taxes. Failure to raise the debt ceiling would have left the government with no money to spend on myriad programs and could have precipitated an unprecedented default. The fiscal cliff had the potential of setting back the economic recovery.

In fact, many Republicans now see the automatic cuts in spending as the only way to tackle the federal deficit. Some liberals won't balk either because they want cuts in Pentagon spending. And many Democrats believe the cuts will have to materialize before Republicans agree to some increase in taxes.

"Some Democrats want it because of the defense cuts, and Republicans want it because they want to do anything to cut domestic spending," said Brendan Daly, a former top aide to Rep. Nancy Pelosi, the former House speaker and now Democratic leader. "And politically, it's difficult to oppose because the impact won't be so severe right away."

Democratic consultant Jim Manley, a former Senate leadership aide who periodically consults with Obama officials, added: "Not only do I expect the sequester to kick in, but unfortunately it will take a couple of temporary government shutdowns before Republicans realize they need to sit down and negotiate in good faith."

White House officials say they believe Republican House Speaker John Boehner of Ohio will ultimately relent in his opposition to additional taxes. They note that despite his initial stand against increasing tax rates in December, he eventually allowed a House vote to proceed raising the top rate on the wealthiest taxpayers.

Not this time, he said Tuesday: "The American people understand that the revenue debate is now closed."

House Republicans have proposed an alternative to the broad, immediate budget cuts, targeting specific spending and extending some of the reductions over a longer period of time. They also have said they are willing to undertake changes in the tax code and eliminate loopholes and tax subsidies. But they have said they would overhaul the tax system to reduce rates, not to raise revenue.

Boehner said in a statement following Obama's remarks: "Tax reform is a once-in-a generation opportunity to boost job creation in America. It should not be squandered to enable more Washington spending. Spending is the problem, spending must be the focus."

Tuesday's exchanges came as the co-chairs of a bipartisan deficit-reduction commission called for reducing the deficit by $2.4 trillion over the next 10 years, with much of the savings coming through health care changes, the closing of tax loopholes, a stingier adjustment of Social Security's cost-of-living increases and other measures.

The proposal by Republican former Sen. Alan Simpson of Wyoming and Democrat Erskine Bowles, the former chief of staff for President Bill Clinton, calls for about one-quarter of the savings to come from changes in health care programs and another quarter from revenue generated by tax changes.

In their plan, Bowles and Simpson say the automatic cuts scheduled for March 1 are too steep and could set back the economy.

"Sharp austerity could have the opposite effect by tempering the still-fragile economic recovery. In order to protect the recovery, the sequester should be avoided and deficit reduction should be phased in gradually," they wrote.

Obama has proposed about $1.5 trillion in long-term deficit reduction with savings from changes in health care programs, lower cost-of-living adjustments in Social Security and other government benefits, spending cuts and increases in revenue by overhauling the tax system

The White House says any elimination of corporate subsidies or tax breaks would be used to lower rates for corporations to 28 percent and to 25 percent for manufacturers, not to raise revenue.

Under Obama's plan, additional revenue of about $600 billion over 10 years would mostly come from reducing the value of itemized deductions and other tax preferences to 28 percent for families with incomes over $250,000.

Even as Obama and Republicans battle over the automatic cuts, Congress is also struggling over how to fund the government through the Sept. 30 end of the fiscal year. Every federal agency has been running on autopilot at essentially last year's funding level since October.

The Pentagon, for instance, has been denied long-sought increases for training and readiness, especially for the Navy and Marine Corps. House Appropriations Committee Chairman Harold Rogers, R-Ky., favors attaching a half-trillion-plus Pentagon funding bill and another measure funding veterans' programs to a spending bill that would pay for government operations for the final six months of the budget year.

Senate Democrats appear cool to the idea of permitting only defense-related spending measures to advance.

Drone Gives Aerial Angle To Real Estate | Stuff.co.nz

Deane Riddick

ROBERT CHARLES/Fairfax NZ

UP AND AWAY: Open2view real estate photographer Deane Riddick demonstrates the photo drone he uses to capture aerial photos of property.

Military-style technology is helping a Taranaki property photographer reach new heights.

Since December Open2view photographer Deane Riddick has been offering real estate agents a new perspective on property photography.

Riddick has been using a photo drone to capture aerial angles of properties for agents wanting to give clients an elevated view.

His six-propeller drone is fitted with a GoPro camera and powered by a 5-amp battery.

The drone is flown by remote control and is installed with a GPS tracking device for homing navigation.

Drones are becoming an increasingly popular tool in modern warfare, ranging from the British Army's minuscule Black Hornet surveillance devices, to the state-of-the-art Sentinel used by the United States Air Force, which the Taliban have nicknamed the "Beast of Kandahar" because of its destructive potential.

But for Riddick, the $3500 drones are just a handy new tool.

So far, he has shot about 30 properties and the response has been positive.

"You can literally put it wherever you want and get a different angle."

The drones were definitely a topic of conversation for people passing by, he said.

"People see it and they want to know more about it."

Open2view has been given permission from the Civil Aviation Authority to use them up an elevation of 150 metres.

But Riddick said he only needed to use the photo drone to about 30 metres.

The GoPro camera was programmed to take a photo every five seconds, Riddick said.

The drones weighed about 1.5-kilograms and were fairly agile and robust.

Before using photo drones in the field, Open2view photographers were given two weeks of training.

Taranaki's estimated 275 real estate agents are being offered one free trial session with the photo drone.

After that, it would cost them $150 a session until the end of next month and $299 thereafter.

Hundreds of thousands line up for new mail app

TORONTO (Reuters) - More than 800,000 people are waiting to access a new iPhone app that aims to transform their email experience by helping them achieve the elusive "inbox zero" -- a fully processed and empty inbox.

The Mailbox app, which launched this month, is slowly rolling out invitations to people waiting in line. The excitement, according to its creators, is a testament to their frustration with existing, out-dated methods of dealing with email.

"The big shift is away from a mobile email client that is a shrunken version of a desktop email client towards a mobile email client focused primarily around processing and triage," said Gentry Underwood, the CEO and co-founder of Palo-Alto-based company Orchestra, which created the app.

The ability to "snooze" an email, which is to defer it to another time, whether later in the day, on the weekend, or until the following week, is one of the main features of the app.

"We want to decide ?do I need to reply now', ?can I deal with this later', or ?should I get it out of the way and never deal with it again?'" he said.

The other strong point is its use of gestural swipes for quickly archiving, deleting and filing messages, or adding them to lists, such as "to read", or "to buy".

The company, which also created to-do list app Orchestra, pulls inspiration from author David Allen's "Getting Things Done" system. The system outlines a rule of "do it, delegate it, defer it, drop it" to help people maintain empty inboxes.

"That creates a very different experience and peace of mind where you know that everything is in its place," said Underwood.

However, one problem with this system, according to Underwood, is that it requires discipline to constantly review folders where tasks are stored for future reference. To overcome this, the Mailbox app provides push notifications for emails that have been snoozed on the day when they are relevant.

"All of a sudden you can have the blissful experience without developing the ninja-like discipline and that's the secret sauce behind this more euphoric experience," he said.

The company is rolling out invitations for the app daily, but cannot provide specific timelines. The wait, according to Underwood, is in place to maintain stability of their system, which he said presents more of a challenge than standard apps.

"Scaling something like an email service is really hard because it involves handling a lot of data and strange edge-cases -- email, file attachments, content in all sorts of languages," he added.

In the meantime, a countdown in the app keeps people in line up-to-date on where they stand.

The app provides many new features over the native iPhone mail app, however it lacks the ability to multi-edit or multi-delete emails.

While the app currently only works with Gmail, the company plans to expand to other types of email and platforms in the future. It is available worldwide.

ESSENTIAL OFF-SEASON VIEWING: "UNDEFEATED" documentary (this coach spoke to the Pats)

    Fellow Pats Fans -

With the long off-season upon us if you're like me you're desperate for quality football viewing. I just finished watching the documentary "Undefeated" on Netflix. It's about a down-and-out losing high school football program in Tennessee and one man's attempt to turn the program around. It's well worth 2 hours of your time, and if you have Netflix it's available for streaming. Here's the link to the preview:

After watching the movie I googled the high school coach. Apparently Belichick brought him in to Foxboro for a motivational speech. (I guess Ron Brace was out sick that day....) Here's an update on the coach and blurb about the Pats:

    Catching up with Bill Courtney
By Kyle Veazey on September 4, 2012 8:40 AM
In Sunday's Commercial Appeal, our "A Season on the Inside" series on high school football in the Mid-South rolled on with a look at Manassas High School. In the wake of the release of "Undefeated" and the acclaim it received when it won an Academy Award back in February, I figured that some readers may want to know what's going on at Manassas these days. The story attempted to answer that.

Bill Courtney, the man who created this whole Manassas movement, isn't currently involved, but we still spoke at length on Friday afternoon. Didn't get to include much about what he's doing now in the story, so I'll share it here. He has a new coaching job: He's a defensive assistant at Grace-St. Luke's, the Midtown private K-8 school.

It's not Manassas, but one of his children is on his team. Courtney left Manassas after the 2009 season after realizing that he wasn't spending enough time with his children, and spent two years helping out at St. George's in Collierville, where he also has children.

Courtney has a healthy schedule of speaking engagements and is represented by WME, a Los Angeles-based talent agency. He has spoken to the New England Patriots and has presented at a Nike-sponsored coaching clinic with the NFL's Pete Carroll. This month, he'll speak in Cleveland, Denver and Virginia Beach. He's also working on two books.

But Manassas, just a few blocks from his office in North Memphis, maintains a place in his heart.

"I miss it every day," he said. "I pull out of my business, take a left on Danny Thomas. I feel like a magnet that I'm having to drive away from."
